Trans Embodiment: A Case Consultation Group
Trans Embodiment is a case consultation group facilitated by Asher Pandjiris, LCSW (Co-Director of Kintsugi Therapist Collective).
Whether you work primarily with trans, non-binary, and gender expansive clients, identify as trans* yourself, or want to more deeply understand the particular challenges faced within trans communities, I welcome you to consider joining this year-long consultation group.
Over the course of 10 monthly sessions, we will gather to explore clinical dilemmas that commonly emerge in our work with trans patients, with particular attention to dissociation, attachment, trauma, relational experience, and the complexities of inhabiting and nourishing the body.
Each month, two group members will present a “case dilemma” to the group. Cases need not follow a strict or traditional framework. Participants are invited to share about a specific client, recurring clinical theme, countertransference experience, or personal process that feels alive in their work.
My approach is rooted in relational, psychodynamic, and attachment-based theories. Together, we will think collaboratively about the many ways gendered experience is lived, negotiated, defended against, discovered, resisted, and expressed within clinical space.
Alongside nuanced clinical inquiry, I hope this group can offer a space for curiosity, connection, and mutual learning. My hope is that members can learn not only from one another’s clinical thinking, but also from the distinct relational positions we each bring into encounters with gender variance, dissociation, desire, adaptation, and “aberrant” bodily experience—both our clients’ and our own.
*This group is informed by contemporary psychoanalytic perspectives on gender, including the work of Ann Pellegrini and Avgi Saketopoulou, who understand transness not as a fixed or innate essence, but as something emergent within psychic, relational, social, and bodily life. Within this framework, gender is approached as dynamic, evolving, and deeply shaped through unconscious and interpersonal experience rather than reducible to identity alone.

Finances.
The following payment structure is inspired by and borrowed from the model of Bayo Akomolafe’s class We Will Dance With Mountains: Into the Cracks and Skin and Spine with Joanna Hedva at Corporeal Writing.
This year-long program offers a sliding scale based on your relative financial standing. In an effort to reflect disparity in economic condition and access to wealth, the following payment system is designed for those with more wealth to help cover the costs of those with less access to wealth and resources. We trust your discernment of your current financial situation and how you fit into the global economic context.
As you decide what amount to pay, please consider your present-day financial situation governed by income, but also the following factors: historical discrimination faced by your peoples; your access to income and financial wealth, both current and anticipated (retirement, savings, investments, expectation of an inheritance; how easily could you earn more income compared to other people in your community, country, and world); people counting on your financial livelihood including dependents and community members; the socio-economic conditions of your locale (relative to other places in your country and in the world); your relationship to food & resource scarcity.
$90/mo - Solidarity
$75/mo - True Value*
$60/mo - Community Care
*This amount reflects the “real” value of the offering

Please note:
Therapists do not need to be fully licensed to participate, however, the KTC Trans Embodiment case consultation group is a consulting relationship and not clinical supervision. Services do not count towards licensure and unlicensed therapists will need to have a clinical supervisor in the state in which they are practicing.
You can contact Asher with questions about the group via email. Applications will be read on a rolling basis with a focus on maintaining an intimate, generative environment.
