My name is Tomi (pronounced “Tommy”), and I am a white, genderqueer and trans person with lived experience of chronic invisible physical and mental illness. I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker living and working in private practice on unceded traditional land of the Wabanaki Confederacy in so-called central Vermont.

I work with queer and trans young adults, adults, and elders both virtually and in-person. My work focuses on creating a safe relational container for clients to explore their sense of self, connect to their bodies’ knowing, and move towards what is important to them. I support clients in contextualizing their experiences within the greater systems we exist within. We work together to reflect on what is and isn’t working, develop understanding and self-compassion for where they’ve been, to reimagine what is possible, and build motivation and strategies to lean into who they want to be. I believe that understanding our nervous system responses and building capacity to respond to ourselves with care is essential to the healing process. I strive to be a thoughtful, curious, and compassionate collaborator on that journey. It is such a gift to witness and support my clients.

Outside of my therapeutic work, I love to garden, play with my dog, read fantasy novels, get crafty, and be involved in my community! I am excited to join the embodied private practice cohort to build community in what can be lonely work, and to learn and grow alongside others with aligned values. If you live in Vermont and are interested in working together, you can reach out to me at tomi.fullcup@proton.me.
