summer is looking towards the camera with a toothy smile while leaning slightly against a slatted wood door. They have buzzed, dark brown hair; freckles on their cheeks; and are wearing a blue tie-dye hoodie.

they/them

Hi there! My name is summer koo (they/them). I’m never quite settled on a label for my gender; I also identify as mixed race (Chinese & white), neurodivergent (ADHD), and queer. As a healing practitioner, I have special interest and experience with issues related to privilege, oppression, and identity; chronic, complex, and generational trauma; as well as challenges related to anxiety and mood. My practice rests on a foundation of authentic care, compassion, and respect for the wholeness of my clients; my approach is anti-oppressive, intersectional, and decolonial. While I choose to practice eclectically to meet my client-community’s unique needs, I mostly find myself pulling from somatic, narrative, and relational-cultural modalities. I strive to co-create safe and empowering relationships that invite us to lean into our discomforts and ultimately, our growth. My practice is open to folx across the lifespan, though I have a special place in my heart for working with QTBIPOC teens (including our inner teenagers!).
