Meet Ro
Ro Oppenheimer, LCSW
they/them
My name is Ro Oppenheimer, LCSW and I am a white anti-Zionist Ashkenazi Jewish therapist and artist living on Lenape land in Brooklyn, NY. I offer an on-site combination of loving somatic therapy and bodywork focused on healing relational trauma. I am licensed in NY and CA and also see folks on telehealth.
It is an honor of my life to grieve with my clients, to rage and marvel with them, to giggle together with and at ourselves. Being a therapist, to me, is the holy work of accompanying people as they come home to what’s real. I believe in being brave and authentic alongside my clients.
Alongside somatic work, I get excited about draglesque, ceramics, Oracle readings, ritual tattooing, play, magic, consent, love in liberatory forms. and other ways of knowing ourselves, each other, and the world.
My experiences surviving sexual abuse and an eating disorder, as well as growing up in an insular Zionist Jewish community, were politicizing—and are dear to me in my work with others. I see queer and trans people as visionaries in re/un/discovering what healing and wellness look like under end-stage capitalism. I am excited to join with other radical folks to dream together about mental health care that meets this moment of ecological crisis, genocide, fascism and other urgent collapses.
I live with my platonic life partner and angry little supermodel dog, Leonard Cohen.
