they/them
I am a white, fat, queer, non-binary, neurodivergent, chronically ill, anti-zionist, Jewish therapist living on unceded Mohican and Pocumtuc land (Western Massachusetts). My practice is called A Way with Words Counseling because I believe in both the alchemy of language, storytelling, and witnessing to move us on a path towards healing and liberation (a way with words) and the need to put language aside and be in and with our bodies (away with words). This both/and is at the root of my work.
I primarily work with queer, trans, and neurodivergent folks, and folks who’ve experienced interpersonal, intergenerational, and/or institutional complex trauma. My work is deeply grounded in identity, valuing the wisdom of lived experience in exploring the interplay between our inner and outer worlds. For folks in Western Mass, I offer walk and talk sessions, inviting in the trees, streams, and seasons of our landscape as collaborators and teachers in the practices of rooting down, flowing through change, and trusting that spring will one day come again.
Outside of therapy, I am passionate about musical theater, jigsaw puzzles, swimming holes, Mary Oliver, board games, tactile crafts, terrible reality tv, audiobooks, and adventures with my corgi, Ziggy. I am always delighted to talk about any of these things, alongside the deep and heavy work we often hold therapy. In a world so insistent on hurting us, I believe that cultivating joy and making space for play and laughter are radical, restorative acts.
