she/her

I’m a 1.5 generation Japanese American cisgender woman continually moving through the experience of being an adult child of immigrants in the United States. I created my practice to offer Asian Americans space to express rage and mourn the loss of a sense of home and belonging. I mostly navigate interactions with others, systems, earth, and ancestors through the sensations in my body and offer somatic-informed psychotherapy with experience in childhood relational/familial trauma, racial identity and trauma, and anxiety.

My time in the inaugural Embodied Private Practice Cohort has shifted the ways in which I celebrate and integrate the parts within me I’ve hidden from myself, my clients, and peers. As I witnessed in the Kintsugi Therapist Collective, I can offer therapy while also finding ways to fulfill my mental health and physical needs while sharing more of who I am. Intellectually, I knew this already. And yet, discussing and grappling and implementing changes in my practice alongside and with the encouragement of my cohort members has felt radical. KTC is facilitating transformation in our field by offering one of many (to come) pathways towards collective care and liberation.
