Meet Mahyar

Mahyar Nili, LMFT, SEP (CA)

she/they

Hi, my name is Mahyar. I’m a diasporic Iranian somatic therapist based in Los Angeles, and have been practicing in CA for 11 years. I’m most passionate about growing and learning, individually and collectively, in ways that connect spirit and heart, the body, and community, moving towards collective liberation. I love dancing and movement, the grounding beauty and joy in nature, the arts, resting and all things self-care, and spending time with loved ones.

My work is grounded in heart-centered non-judgment, deep acceptance and compassion, curiosity, collaboration, cultural sensitivity and humility, love and affirmation of identities, anti-oppression, and openness to the unknown. As a trauma-informed, person-centered and holistic therapist, I integrate talk therapy with learning from somatic, and attachment-oriented modalities, including Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Touch skills online, EMDR, Comprehensive Resource Model, PACT, EFIT, and AEDP. I specialize in supporting first- and second-generation immigrants, especially Queer, Non-Binary, Trans, BIPOC, SWANA, Neurodivergent, chronically ill and disabled, spiritual, sensitive, artists, and activists, with attention to intersecting aspects of identity, and histories.
