Meet Lavender

Lavender, LCAT (NY)

they/them

Hi, Iā€™m Lavender and I'm a disabled Black trans art therapist from Queens, New York, and based in Brooklyn. I work from an anti-oppressive therapy framework, wherein the goal is to foster self-advocacy through connecting personal traumas to structural systems. My work is also informed by disability justice, encouraging rest as fuel or pleasure activism, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care. I work individually with children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in working with folks who have experienced trauma and/or abuse, are dealing with depression & anxiety, need assistance navigating non-monogamous relationships, and want to explore gender identity & sexuality. I prioritize BIPOC clients who identify as queer, trans or gender non-conforming, and/or disabled.

You can find more about my work at creativenowtherapy.com/lavender.html or email me at ariel@creativenowtherapy.com.
