Meet Laura

Laura R Welp, MA, LMHC (MA)

she/her

Hi! My name is Laura and I am a cis woman, psychotherapist and human being. I am a survivor of medical trauma, traumatic loss and violent crime, which informs my clinical practice specializing in PTSD, dissociation and grief work. I experience a cerebral and highly sensitive internal system, loaded with deep empathy and deep emotion. Many of my clients are queer and our work together focuses on identity, regulating and integrating the nervous system, and connecting with one’s self to strengthen relationships with others. Outside of my weekly private practice, I am also a disaster relief worker, offering psychological first aid to communities facing acute tragedy. Recently, I have begun offering Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy to clients suffering from severe depression and unresolved existential suffering. My favorite thing about being a therapist is being a heart-led witness to the human experience, in all of its extremes, ironies, humors and ills.
