Kari Wolman Killianey, Psy.D.
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
she/her
I'm Dr. Kari, a Psychologist with 20 years of experience, seeing individual adults in person in Redwood City and online throughout California. I help people, and have lived experience with, developmental trauma and its effects, infertility and pregnancy loss, ancestral trauma and healing, parenting in neurodiverse families, divorce, and midlife transition.
As a white, heterosexual, cisgender woman with class privilege, the midlife discovery of my own and my children's autism and ADHD, parenting a non-binary child, and experiencing divorce as a primary caregiver, has centered my skepticism for the Western tendency to blame the individual and shifted my focus to unwinding systemic shame. I have a passion for helping late- and self-diagnosed neurodivergent people, especially women, claim their identities and strengths. We focus on regulating the nervous system, accessing trauma in the body, and finding compassion for the parts of ourselves that may be hardest to accept.
I also help people prepare for and integrate psychedelic experiences, and I offer legal Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) in my office. I have training in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy from MAPS, from Polaris for KAP, and as a guide in spiritual settings. My own work with psychedelics has been powerful and transformative, and I am passionate about bringing this medicine to people who are looking for change and relief, in a setting of deeply personalized care and a safe and stable container.
