Meet Jess

Jess Gonzales, MSW-LP (NY)

New York, NY

she/her

I am a white, queer person with invisible disabilities and am a mad studies-oriented therapist living on Lenape land in Queens, NY. While I work with people from all walks of life, I’m particularly passionate about helping people who have been harmed by medical or psychiatric treatment cultivate safety in their bodies. I’m a proponent of working in solidarity with people experiencing mental health challenges — not doing things to them. In addition to my clinical practice, I am also working on a psychedelic thanatology project with the Psychedelic Humanities Lab at The New School.

I practice through MTZ Counseling, where I see clients in person in lower Manhattan and throughout New York State via telehealth. If you’re interested in individual or couples therapy, please see my Psychology Today page to learn more and connect.
