Meet Azra

Azra Poe, MA, RCT-C, CCC (NS, Canada)

she/they

I work as a somatic, trauma, relational, attachment-based therapist in Nova Scotia, Canada. I live off grid in the woods, where I learn to build, sustain and grow my home. I am a settler here, learning how to take care of the land, and bodies that exist around me. I am on this journey working along side my clients trying to understand how to be in this world as a body that feels deeply, and being with bodies that feel deeply. I come to this work with humility, knowing that being with the unknown can be a practice of healing itself. Being silly is my favorite expression of life. I love my work. I am influenced by the philosophy of Hakomi, and practice holding a loving presence as a foundation for my work. I strive to prioritize safety in the continuous work of decolonizing and de-pathologizing the therapist–client dynamic.

I graduated from the somatic Masters program in San Francisco at California Institute of Integral Studies. I currently work at a clinic in Halifax, and in private practice. I also have extensive experience creating workshops designed to prevent bullying and sexual harassment in remote workplace environments.
